In my previous projects I’ve always seen myself as a pro at writing songs about the rough times in romantic relationships. Whenever I did write Love songs it was always about an imaginary relationship (with either Rashida Jones or Aubrey plaza). I always took the approach of writing love songs from the view of someone who has never been in love before, because let’s face it Love isn’t all it’s cracked up to be and the idea of love from a person imagining it before experiencing it is always more pure and grand than the actual thing. Also I haven’t Really been in love with something other than Music in a long time (and that’s probably the NON-philosophical real Reason). Then Bam! After one swipe right on tinder on a Saturday morning, one of those “this is too good to be true” swipes, I met MY girl and here we are almost 3 years later. She always asks me “how much do you love me?” Not so much questioning it but just because she liked hearing it. I ran out of cool lines like “I love you as much as rick Ross loves wing stop” & decided to right this song about her so whenever she needs to be reminded she can put it on. Every single line in here is real, it all happen and meant it all (sometimes she’s mad at the candidness of talking about having Sex in certain places we shouldn’t but hey!)
