There have been a lot of dancehall / reggae Inspired songs on pop radio these days. They are trying to call it "Electronic Tropic" but we all know it's just producers jacking Caribbean music but not giving the culture proper credit. I am American born, but I grew up in an area of brooklyn where every other family was from the islands so that Caribbean vibe was always around from the music to the food and fashion. Recently I was listening to this Barrington levy project "acoustic levy" and came across this song "life is great" I was so inspired by it and the need to show respect to the artist I came up listening to that I decided to chop up flip the song and make something new. This song is called "Barrington levy" because it carries the same message that his music does. The song tells the tale of two people who take on side hustles to make some fast cash. When they begin their plan is to only hustle for a short time, just to get what they need, but once they see how good the money is it becomes hard to step away. I shot the video in Tokyo and Kyoto in japan.I just felt that the “girl fetish” and underlying sex culture paired perfectly with the message of the song
